Immersed in the Towering Redwood a volunteer’s dream job as CAMP HOST at ALBEE CREEK CAMPGROUND

Have you ever dreamed of waking up to the soft rustle of leaves and the gentle murmur of a nearby creek? As a camp host at the California Redwoods State Park’s Albee Creek Campground, we had the privilege of experiencing this tranquility firsthand.
Well, we had been dreaming of staying in the California Redwoods, but our RV was too big for the 24 feet RV limit. However, a unique opportunity came along to be a volunteer Camp Host in the California Redwoods State Park in Humboldt County. We were offered a site that fit our RV. The experience and beauty was beyond our wildest imagination.
In late April, 2024 we drove through the majestic Avenue of the Giants and then Mattole Road to get to our camp hosting destination at Albee Creek campgrounds . As we drove through the Rockefeller Forest it was like stepping back in time. After five miles through the old growth Coastal Redwoods, Giant sequoias, and all the other greenery we made it to the Campground.
